Why The Ethical Coaching Company?

Why did I start the Ethical Coaching Company?

A message from Kirsty.

“A wonderful lady, Nikki Clark, who I’m proud to say is now one of our advisory board members, asked me a really poignant question that made me really think. We were discussing the lack of ethics in the coaching industry. And she asked, ‘Well, what are you going to do about it?’…the penny dropped, and I thought, ‘Well YES, what am I going to do about it?”

This was the moment the cogs began to turn, the point I realised I could take my experience, my vision, my values and my desire to have a more regulated ethical coaching space and do something about it. And I did this by creating a coaching hub for businesses of all sizes to access trusted, accredited, qualified coaching experts.

The Ethical Coaching Company was born.

So what led me to this point?

The online space has many opportunities and possibilities for all businesses. I’ve been lucky enough to work with some incredible people doing great work in their areas. However, the online space is also largely unregulated, and I’ve witnessed and experienced poor ethical and moral practices in the coaching industry and its impact on the industry. At times I felt I was navigating through the ‘online Wild West.’

Being a tutor supporting ILM Business Coaching qualifications as well as running a business coaching practice, I saw both sides of the coin.

It frustrated me to see unethical practices damaging our industry when incredible coaches have invested time and money to ensure they can coach in their given area and in the scope of coaching required by the individual or team. I want there to be a change. With my experience, I know I can help drive that change.

How will I do this, I hear you ask?

To start with I’ve created a company committed to actively creating a safer, more transparent, and responsible coaching industry. A move that we are hoping will spark a movement, a conversation and a rise in standards across the board.

By creating our charter, we will intentionally operate to ensure that high-impact, high-quality, trusted coaching is our baseline.

We promise transparency with our prices and strive to deliver excellent standards throughout your experience with us. We commit to do our due diligence when choosing our partners. It is a rigorous process set intentionally difficult with the bar set high. We are using certifications, and qualifications alongside experience as the baseline to ensure all of our coaches, mentors & consultants are educated within their field. By doing so we are putting our stake in the sand and saying ‘this is the standard we want to work to and be upheld by’

This high standard follows through everything that we do including our messaging as we aim to never knowingly use manipulation tactics such as charm pricing, countdowns, false scarcity and bait and switch.

We go into quite a bit of detail about this within our charter. You can view the full list courtesy of TheEthicalMove.org here with how we plan to oppose these tactics.

What makes us different?

In addition to the ethical charter and high standards we choose to operate to, our aim is to make trusted powerful coaching as accessible and as bespoke as possible.

Our core coaching offer is a mix-and-match approach – you will work with The Ethical Coaching Company to decide which areas of support are needed for you and your business. A package will be tailored to those needs.

This means you gain access to our bank of coaching experts to create and build your package. For example, you may choose a combination of business strategy – mindset – marketing OR leadership – staff retention – menopause to fit your needs. The choice is endless and up to you.

This is the case regardless of the size of your business. Whether you are a solopreneur or a huge corporate, you can access all our coaches.

It was important to us to make our service as impactful as possible, supporting the business holistically.

We also support our coaches to be the BEST they can be. Becoming a partner is like joining a family. We help, support, and challenge one another if needed. This is a collective, the power of the group is what makes this business special.

We are also working on our Ethical Coaching Company certificated programme so we can support any coach to acquire the Ethical Coaching Company Standards – so they can demonstrate to their clients that they are choosing to coach ethically.

I am proud to have created a space where business owners, leaders & coaches can come and be supported to take inspired action with clear direction and achieve THEIR goals with kind, supportive, high-quality, high-impact coaching and mentoring that they can trust.

This is why I created The Ethical Coaching Company.
